Our full day tour of Hue allows you to take in many of the highlights of the Imperial Capital City of Hue and surrounding countryside effortlessly. The roads both in and surrounding Hue are mainly flat and because the traffic in this sleepy city is quieter than many others in Vietnam, are a riders dream! Beautiful country paths along rivers and through rice paddies give way to impressive tombs and spectacular pagodas, not to mention the grandeur of the Imperial City itself, now restored to former glory. Our knowledgeable guides will take you through the unrivalled history of this magical area, treating you to a day that you will never forget.

Our first stop is 5km along the picturesque Huong River, is hidden among the immense grapefruit gardens and ancient houses of Thuy Bieu is Ho Quyen Tiger Fighting Arena and nearby Long Chau Temple dedicated to the worship of dead war elephants. These relics of Feudal era Vietnam contain amazing histories and evoke a time when these wild creatures roamed the jungles of Central Vietnam.
Bunker Hill comes from a different time in history – the exact time and identity of the builders of these concrete bunkers is a matter of debate but what is indisputable is the beauty of the view of the river from the hill on which they stand. Great photo opportunities here.
Less visited than its neighbors but no less impressive is Thieu Tri Tomb. Dedicated to Emperor Thien Tri it contains 10 monuments and a tomb in 2 parts. Because there are generally many less visitors here than other tombs nearby, you will get a good sense of the place and experience
Enjoy a short boat ride in a Dragon boat across the river. Once used as a barracks for French troops, Hue’s Temple of Literature is dedicated to the memory and worship of Confucius. Visit this symbol of education during feudal times and see its 32 preserved steles bearing the names of the 239 successful candidates in National Examinations organized through the Nguyen Dynasty.
We will then enjoy lunch of a famous regional dish at a local restaurant close to Thien Mu Pagoda.
Thien Mu Pagoda, with its unique architecture dedicated to the Celestial Lady, adds its charm to this beautiful natural setting. The iconic seven story pagoda is regarded as the unofficial symbol of the city, it is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved religious sites in Vietnam.
The Imperial City is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Hue and was founded as Vietnam’s capital city by Gia Long, the first king of the Nguyen Dynasty in 1802. It held this position for nine Nguyen dynasties until 1945. It was damaged during the American War but has been recently restored. After the tour of the interior we take you on a ride around the canals surrounding the site.
Dong Ba Market is the oldest of its kind in Hue and spans almost 16,000 square meters, with hundreds of stalls selling household items, handicrafts, clothing and fresh produce at affordable prices.
Our tour ends by visiting one of places that has made the City of Hue most well known in Vietnam. Founded in 1896, Quoc Hoc High School is second oldest High School in Vietnam and has been always ranked in the top 3 Vietnamese high schools for its high level of education and for having top political leaders as its graduates, the most important of all being Ho Chi Minh.

What do I need to know?
During the period November to March it is advisable to pack rainwear and warm clothing, your camera and lots of batteries.
During the period April to November it is advisable to a pack light rainwear. Furthermore bring your camera and lots of batteries. A wide brimmed hat, sunglasses and other sun protection is advisable.
How much luggage can I take? Your vehicle has limited space so please keep your luggage to a maximum of 15kgs in a backpack or soft overnight bag and include a small day pack to hand carry for easy access to camera, sunscreen, water etc. Inhibitions can be left in the luggage storage rooms at your hotel with your other unwanted baggage or at our booking office.....
