Mekong Delta is More Than Just a Destination

First we need to know, what is the Mekong Delta; The Mekong Delta is a network of rivers in southwestern Vietnam, between Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodia. The river itself starts in the Himalayas and passes through China, Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia before reaching Vietnam, which partly explains why the waters are so murky. More than half of Vietnam’s rice and fish comes from the delta region. It’s vital to the Vietnamese economy and region is also called the belly of Vietnam..


Life in the area revolves around water, from the famous floating markets to the vast agricultural industries. An amazing variety of fruits, flowers and livestock grow in the region. The Mekong River Delta is the rice basket of Vietnam, providing the sustenance for millions.

The best stay during our 3 weeks trip on Vietnam
We booked for one night and stayed 3 nights, because we liked this homestay very much. It was very quiet and cosy. The place is surrounded by well kept garden and fruit orchards.
The owner spoke good English and helped us a lot with organizing trips and transfers. We also had very nice evening chats. His hospitality is one of the highlight of our time in Mekong Delta.

Amazing Place
Ben Tre Garden Farmstay is a beautiful place, the staff puts a lot of effort into the well-being of its guests and the decoration. The host was a lovely lady who made sure that we had an amazing stay: She organized a tour trough the Mekong-Delta, spent a lot of time talking with us and showed and told us interesting things about her culture and her country. Also the food was delicious, they took our diet into consideration and cooked vegetarian food for us every evening. We would come back to this place any time:).
