- Please check if you can open the attachment & check all attached files.
- Check carefully that all your data is correct.
- Check if gender is correctly mentioned.
- Check if the names are correctly mentioned as in your passport (this need to be correct otherwise your VOA is invalid)
In some situations, for example with multiple first names and or baptismal names, the Vietnamese Immigration Department will shorten a part by using the first and last letter of the name. In this way, the name is also published on the VOA.

What do I need to complete and what should I prepare?
- Valid passport and the same passport as with your VOA application.
- Passport must be valid for at least 6 months on the day of arrival in Vietnam.
- Passport has at least 3 blank pages on arrival in Vietnam.

What do I need to present at the departing airport check-in counter before my departure?
Please show your printed VOA letter (all documents related to (VOA - 1170.PDF) at the check-in desk before you leave for Vietnam.
Displaying the files on your mobile phone or iPad or other devices will not be accepted which may result in your flight being refused.
On arrival at the airport in Vietnam
Make sure you have cash $ USD to pay for the visa stamp contribution at the airport upon arrival in Vietnam.
- Pay $ 25 for a single entry.
- Pay $ 50 for a multi entry.
Important: Please note: there are no cash points or ATMs at the airport prior to the Immigration Desk
Prepare all documents carefully before departure to make sure everything is arranged!
Go visit the Immigration Desk or Visa on Arrival Counter at the airport.
- Hand over your passport + Visa on arrival letter + Visa application form.
- Pay stamp contribution in $ USD.
- Receive the visa stamp in your passport.

All citizens of certain countries on the visa exemption list may visit Vietnam without visa for a period of time, hereunder is the list of countries and regions that have Visa Waiver arrangements with Vietnam.
Special notes:
- British National Overseas (BNO) passport holders are not eligible for the 15-day free visa exemption. Hence, it is required to apply for a visa to visit Vietnam.
- Foreign passports are exempt from visa requirements to Phu Quoc island for no longer than 30 days. If they transit through other international airports in Vietnam before arriving Phu Quoc, they are still eligible for the exemption.
Important to know is that airline companies might refuse you on your flight as not every airliner is knowing about the exemption. In this case we still advise you to apply for a visa on arrival.
- APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) holders with valid passports are exempt from Vietnam visa requirements for stay of no longer than 60 days.
To get Vietnam visa exemption, the eligible travelers are required to ensure:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months following their date of arrival in Vietnam;
- Passport has at least 03 blank pages.
Please note: As we trying to keep the Visa Exemption updated, Friends Travel Vietnam can not be hold responsible for any changes regarding Immigration LAW changes.
Update as of March 2020 , regular passport holders from 14 COUNTRIES below DO NOT need a tourist visa for Vietnam.
