Day 1: Ho Chi Minh - Cu Chi Tunnel
Begin with pickup at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1, then spend the morning exploring downtown. Hear stories about Vietnamese history in between stops at a series of key monuments and landmarks. See the elegant Colonial-era architecture of the Genral Post Office, then cross the street to the brick red Notre Dame Cathedral. Pass the Reunification Palace, then take in exhibits about wartime atrocities and fallout at the War Remnants Museum, which also has a fascinating collection of vintage tanks and airplanes. Lunch at the local restaurant with Saigon River view.
After lunch, drive into the countryside to see the Cu Chi Tunnels, a vast network of excavations that were created during the French colonial era, then expanded by the Viet Cong during the war with the United States. Watch a video about the tunnels, then walk through them and see demonstrations of the traps and weapons used against American GIs. This tour concludes with a return transfer to your Ho Chi Minh City hotel.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi – Ho Chi Minh. (Lunch)
7:30 am be pick up at your hotel to visit special places in Ho Chi Minh city:
War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit is particularly touching, dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict. The courtyard outside contains the spoils of war, namely rusting jets, tanks and cannons captured from the American military machine.
Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in its creation was shipped from France to Vietnam. The Old Post Office is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office.
Fito Museum – the special oriental medicine museum with nearly 3,000 artifacts related to traditional medicine Vietnam from the Stone Age to the present.
Ben Thanh Market: This bustling market is very popular with tourists, primarily due to its central location. It has a wide selection of goods ranging from fake Nike shoes to beautiful silk Ao Dais War.

After lunch, we will continue to visit Cu Chi Tunnel. It distance 60 km North West from Ho Chi Minh (1.5-hour drive)
We will Watch the documentary movie to understand how locals could live, work and fight underground in the war
Take a tour in the jungle to visit:
Secret entrances – trap door for locals to get in and out the tunnel systems. Bamboo traps – built in the jungle by locals used to defend and protect their villages.
Hidden ventilation systems – breathing holes to support the air for the tunnels.
Fighting trenches – hundreds of kilometers’ trenches were built above the tunnel systems used for fighting and transporting troops, weapons, wounded…
Remnant M 41 - US tank – the tank was destroyed and left in the jungle after the battle between the US soldiers and Viet Cong in 1970.
Underground Military workshop – the underground bunker used as a recycle weapons’ factory where Viet Cong built their own weapons (land mines, grenades, bullets…) for guerilla warfare.
National defense shooting range – travelers have a chance to shoot real rifles (AK 47; M 16; M 1) and machine guns (M 30; M 60).
Original tunnels – this is the great experience for travelers to see the real tunnels were built and used by locals during the war
The field hospital, underground conference room, dining room, kitchen and its special hidden chimney system.
